Hockey is a sport usually played on ice, usually indoors but can be played in an outdoor rink. The game itself is played with five players and a goalie. These five players consisit of three forwards and two defenseman. Hockey players wear gear from head to toe. They also use sticks and a rubber circle(a puck) to shoot and pass.
On March 3, 1875, the first organized indoor game was played at Montreal's Victoria Skating Rink, this was the beginning or ice hockey. In 1876 the first official hockey game was played. Hockey was believed to have evolved from a stick and ball game, the creators simply put the stick and ball game on ice.
